The Times Higher Education has shortlisted the University for its coveted ‘University of the Year’ award on four occasions in the last ten years. The most recent Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 awarded the University a unique ‘double first’ in declaring it University of the Year’ for both international students and sports provision, stating: “International and sporting excellence carry Nottingham to two University of the Year awards and a second successive shortlisting for the overall University of the Year title.

Libraries and Information Services

The University of Nottingham has eight UK libraries, offering a range of study spaces, including silent and quiet study zones, vibrant hubs with interactive screens and single and group study rooms.

The NUsearch platform allows students to search and access physical and digital resources, from books and journals to e-books and special collections. After a recent major refurbishment, the university’s George Green Library now includes a range of study areas, language laboratories and a café.
